Carly Roberts
Education Specialist

Carly grew up in Mahopac, NY, a small suburb outside “the city” (New Yorkers call Manhattan "the city" regardless of where they live) but relocated to DC in 2004. She joined Horton's Kids as an AmeriCorps VISTA after receiving her B.A. in psychology from the George Washington University in May 2008. At the end of her VISTA year, she joined our staff... she just couldn't get enough! Aside from chasing the smallest Horton's Kids around at tutoring, Carly focuses on advocating for the children, getting them special education services and enrolling many of them in charter schools. Having worked with children for many years, Carly is thrilled to be part of the Horton's Kids' education team, and, as a member of a hip hop dance group, loves learning sweet moves from the children.
